Minutemen: Thanks to all of you who sign this guest book. If you wouldn't mind, it would be a really, really big help if you would also include in your comments the time that you were stationed in 62 - from month/year to month/year. Example: I was in 62 from Sep 72 to Jul 74.

Take a look at the paid membership tab on this website. You can see that I am trying to put each Minuteman's dates of service in the comments section - which has turned out to be harder than I thought.

Your help is very much appreciated.

Don't forget that our next reunion is in two months at Hampton, Virginia. We would like to see all your smiling faces at the Crowne Plaza on the Waterfront. See the reunion tab for complete information.

Merry Christmas, Norm

My daddy was Frederick (Freddy) Fuchs and he was in MCB62 from 66'-69'. He passed away three years and just trying to contact anyone who may have known my daddy. He found a site several years ago and started to locate and comment back to people and then he and my mom lost everything on there computer and could never find the site again. He would have been glad to see this and I know he would have already been on here to check it out. Just would like to hear from anyone that knew him. Would really mean alot to me. My daddy meant alot to me and really miss him. Hope to hear from anyone! Merry Christmas to all of you out there.

I served in NMCB-62 as S-1A (Personnel Officer) from April 1980 through April 1983. Deployed to Camp Moscript, Puerto Rico in 1980 where we built Cuban/Haitian Refugee Resettlement Center and then made the final full Battalion deployment to Diego Garcia to close that construction effort in 1982. Thought I knew every way that a sailor could get into trouble until Diego Garcia! My claim to fame was serving at the pleasure of Ole L. Olsen, and surviving it! Also served as PAO putting together both of these Cruisebooks. Had a great crew and lots of fond memories. Three of our personnel office gents made LDO/CWO (LCDR Leonard Treadway, LCDR Richard Green, and CWO4 Jeffrey Barone). Jeff just retired last month as a Navy Seal with 30 years of honorable service. I retired as a CWO4 in 1989 after living in New Orleans for 14 years! I hope to attend the 2012 reunion.

My granduncle was Daniel B. Mulholland who served as a Yeoman 1C in HQ Company of the 62nd during WWII. He lied about his age (he was born in 1895!) in order to enlist - interestingly, he had also served with the Navy during WWI. After coming back from the Pacific in 1945 he started working for the Veterans Administration (VA) as a "Quartermaster" at the Minnesota Soldiers Home. He died in 1965 and is buried in Snelling National Cemetery. I have some photos of him during WWII.
