I was assigned to NMCB-62, HQ, from 1979-1981 as a YN3 who was responsible for legal duties. Went to Rota, Spain, and Roosevelt Roads, Puerto Rico. Have been trying to find info about September 1980-May 1981 Roosevelt Roads. Also trying to track down George Gaurino, a Photo Journalist, who may be retired now. Also YN3 Reyes Martinez, YN3 Doug Gayle, YN1 J.C. Brown (probably retired as a CPO).

Joined 62 advanced party coming back from Guam in Feb. 1974 in Gulfport. Deployed to Rota, many details all over Japan and then was sent to Okinawa when I messed up my knee. Had surgery back at Kessler, when we returned from Okinawa. When we deployed to Diego, they wouldn't let me go because of rehab on knee. Was sent to CBU at Naval Academy Annapolis until discharge in Dec. 1977.

I was in NMCB 62 and was stationed in Dong Ha in 1969.I would like to get in touch with the following guys: James W. Nicolson, BU 2; Billy C. Pike, CN; and Stephen D. Rabak, DT 3. Can anyone help me? Also, Paul Difebo, BU 2, was unable to attend the reunion in February in VA due to illness. I would like to know how he is doing and I lost contact with Eugene Battiston of Amherst, MA. The last email I received from him was last October. Any news on him? Thanks! CAN DO always!

Minutemen:
Our friend Stormin Normand has designed our own personalized NMCB 62 desktop set. The link to the photo and ordering information is located on our website, click on link #4, paragraph #1 Seabee Battalion Websites. Scroll down to our NMCB 62 website addresses to the NMCB 62 custom desktop set and click on the link.

Jim Schoelen bought a set and here's what he says:

Hello Stormin' Normand,
Thank you for your response. I did use a regular credit card and place an order for the NMCB 62 'Can Do' flag set and a bumper sticker. I believe everything worked fine on placing the order and am now looking forward to receiving the items soon. Thank you!
Best regards, Jim Schoelen NMCB 62 ( '76-'81 ), NMCB 22 ( '93-'08 ).
After he received his set he said:

Hello Normand,
I did receive all items in good shape as expected. Packaging worked fine to protect the contents. I think your 'Can Do' flag set is a great idea and will surely start a conversation or two where I will have an opportunity to talk about the Seabees! You have my permission to use my comments. Thank you! Best regards, Jim Schoelen

The price is right and the quality is outstanding!!
