How to get on the Gulfport, Mississippi Seabee Reunion email list.NMCB 62 & Ireland & Scotland Seabees.
Secretary Norm emailed Glen Kellerman, one of the Kingpins of the Gulfport Seabee reunion to ask him if our members could email him directly to get your name put on his Gulfport Seabee reunion email list, meaning that when the reunion information is published you would be directly emailed all of the information rather than having that information come through me.
(Below is my email to him)
Hi Glen, I am expecting a good crowd from NMCB 62 in 2016. If folks would like to have their email address added to your reunion registration form and events email contact list, can I tell them to email you directly?? Let me know. Take care, Norm.
(Below is his reply to me)
Absolutely!! I will add their names to the list. Yes, you may have the individuals contact me directly about having their name added to the list. Just be sure and tell them to mention your name (or NMCB 62) in their email. Glen. His email address is listed above.

Looking forward to join the reunion in Gulfport in April 2016. I did four tours in Vietnam with MCB-62 from 1966 - 1970. I visited Gulfport in May and found out I had just missed a reunion there.Submitted by: Cotton Wells

To: Norm Hahn, NMCB 62 Secretary. 8-10-2015, Today at 7:12 PM.I was requested to send this:
From: Katherine L RADM NAVFAC HQ Gregory, 00
Sir,
During some recent trips and talks with our retired community, Force Levesque and I have gotten some questions about the future of the Seabees and the future of the bases in Port Hueneme and Gulfport. We would appreciate your help in dispelling any and all rumors about any changes/cuts/closures -- THERE ARE NONE. While there has been some discussion of another round of BRAC in the news recently, there are NO PLANS (NONE) right now to close the base in Port Hueneme or Gulfport. There are also no plans to make further cuts to Seabee manning. In fact, in a recent budgeting meeting, senior Navy leaders acknowledged the importance of our Seabees tot the Navy's mission and stated that if savings were needed, cuts to the Seabees should not even be considered. We are in high demand and will remain so as the contingency construction agent of choice.
Recent events such as the POW Medal Ceremony in April and the CM3 Marvin Shields Remembrance Ceremony in June highlighted the courageous achievements of Seabees in the past, and this year's Sailor of the Year selections (two of the four are Seabees and a third is in the NCF), also demonstrate the contributions and recognition of current Seabees in the Navy. The Navy is very aware of and appreciative of the importance and value Seabees, Seabee units, and Seabee bases provide to our national defense. If you can also help dispel any rumors regarding additional cuts to Seabee forces and the closure of any bases, I'd greatly appreciate it.
Thank you for all that you do to continue to promulgate our great Seabee heritage.
Very sincerely,
Kate
